General RB3D Rules
- First and foremost, be courteous, Salute when
appropriate and help out on someone's wing when asked.
- If someone tells you that you infracted a
rule, it is possible that the server host may have made special rules for the
day, event or even changed since I posted this so please keep that in mind as
you read on, these rules apply to most all servers (except Melee, anything
goes there) Follow these and you usually won't be questioned at all.
- Events have similar rules to what follows,
please be sure to read up on the events rules prior to engaging your enemy. In
some cases the rules become more lenient during events and grounded pilots
become viable targets, read the events rules to take full advantage of the
rules.
The Rules as we know them
- Don't shoot a pilot/plane on the ground
/ Unless you're in a bomber @ a target Aerodrome
- Don't shoot a plane in the air with
rockets
- Don't use rockets on anything unless
you are in a bomber
- Don't shoot at friendly
airplanes or ground targets
- Don't use smoke
- As soon as you catch fire, re-spawn, the fastest way is to hit
"ESC" then "ENTER" on your keyboard, this will re-spawn you
- Don't bomb in planes not designated to
bomb (Usually an Allied Neuport 17 and Hun
Albatross D2)
- When you can no longer fly your
machine, don't land and sit in it, be courteous and ditch it, give the
attacker credit
- On the same note as #6 If you are the
attacker and you get a "Salute" from the pilot you are shooting at,
discontinue the attack, they are "done". Put a fork in them, FYI,, Most
pilots that have been around for some time will fly their machine in battle
until it will no longer sustain flight rather than try to run home. That is
unless their machine won't climb and they have the option to turn home,
meaning there is no enemy very near by
- On the same note as #6&7 don't call
Salute unless you know you can make it back home to repair
- No Strafing ground targets without a
bomber
- No foul language, we have lots of kids
playing here with their parents
- No abusive attitudes towards anyone, if
someone offends you take it outside, if you ignore them they usually go away
faster than you can resolve the issue with nasty comments
- Don't use hacks and cheats, it makes
you look bad and makes the game less enjoyable for everyone
- THE NAME GAME! As you know it's easier
to change your name in this game than it is underwear at home. Your name is
your "symbol", your "Icon", what separates you from the rest. Please use only
your name, not other players names to give them a bad name or simply to change
your name for the purpose of reeking havoc then leaving.
- Most of these rules are nothing more
than common courtesies of civilized people. Many of us have been flying this
game since 1998 and some even before that. We will outlast those who think
they can come in and "punk-out" the rest of us. We've survived better than
even you may become at harassing. Trust me there have been some doozies over
the years. There are security enhancements that can be enforced but reduce
overall enjoyment in the game for everyone, don't make us use them to keep you
out, PLEASE
- Please see the game for what it is, a
game. It's not perfect, it's not without flaws but we've decided to build a
community around it that has allowed Red Baron 3D to outlast some of the best
games on the market. With continued support from the community which you are
more than welcome to join,
this game will last another who knows how many years. If you take the time to
really try it out you'll find that most folks are helpful all the time. They
will teach you the techniques you'll need to progress in this game, and yes
you'll need to learn a few to be really good. Don't think you'll be able to do
it on your own. We're here to help, this community has survived this long
because of it.
- Last but not least, consider
joining a cyber
squadron. There are dozens to choose from and that's the best and fastest way
to become really good in this game. Your squad will generally give you special
training until you feel you are ready. Having a reliable wingman in this game
is worth it's weight in gold.
Good luck - God Speed and
God Bless!
